  • Odd Even Traffic Scheme to Be Functional in Delhi from January 1, 2016

According to reports, the odd even traffic scheme would be functional in Delhi from January 1, 2016. Odd even traffic scheme is basically a solution introduced by the Delhi government to eliminate the problems of air pollution in Delhi.

This scheme is quite in the limelight these days. But, most of the people don’t know about it completely.

Basically, it has been decided by the government that the vehicles which are registered with an odd number would allowed to travel on Delhi roads on MWF, i.e. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Similarly, the vehicles which are registered with an even number would travel on TTS, i.e Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Nothing is confirmed about the Sunday.

There are reports that before December 25, 2015, the entire plan of the traffic scheme would come to the front and the plan would be executed from January 1, 2016.

It has been reported that this rule will also apply to the cars that do not belong to Delhi, i.e. if you are not a Delhi resident and going to Delhi for some work, then you will also have to follow the same rule.

Additionally, this rule is not applicable to the two-wheelers.

This time, the Delhi government is very serious about this pollution issue. Thus, (as per reports) the government is also planning to shut down thermal power plant. Also, it might be made compulsory for vehicles to follow Euro VI emission norms stringently from the year 2017.
