Recently an index prepared by the world bank reports that Gujarat is at the top in the ease of doing business index, followed by Andhra Pradesh and Jharkhand.
The ranking of the states was based on eight parameters, such as allotment of land, setting up of business, environmental clearance procedure, infrastructure, labour reforms, taxregistration procedure and inspections for compliance of various norms.
Recently US called for a simpler tax regime in India to make it easier to do business in India and attract global investments.
