Flights from Delhi to Shimla are all set to launch under the Central Government’s Scheme, which is known as UDAN or Ude Desh ka Har Nagarik. The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is reported to flag off the inaugural flight on 27th of April, 2017.

According to the reports, the air fare of 50% of the seats would start from Rs 1,920. The rest of the 50% would cost almost between Rs 5000 and Rs 20,000 for each seat. Further, it is said that the flight would operate five days a week. It will leave Delhi at 6:10 am and reach Shimla by 7:25 am. It will then depart from Shimla at 7.45 am and reach Delhi at 8.45 am.

With these flights, it is expected that the tourism industry would gain much profits in business, as most of the foreigners and business travellers would be boarding the flights. Customers planning for business trip or leisure trips would be happy to hear such news.

It is not the first time that Delhi to Shimla flights are operated. Till September 6, 2012, Kingfisher used to operate the flights.

According to VC Pharka, the State chief secretary, all the essential arrangements, including the refueling facility and repairing of the runway have been completed at the Jubbarhatti airport. This move has also been appreciated by the general manager of HPTDC, i.e. Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corp.
