  • Delhi’s Pragati Maidan to Transform into a Convention Centre

By august 2019, the Pragati Maidan would redevelop into an Exhibition-cum-Convention Centre, as per the India Trade Promotion Organisation. Reports say that the pragati maidan redevelopment plan or tender is under consideration and the detailed planning might be completed by June first week.

According to ITPO CMD LC Goyal, if everything goes well, the construction part might start from July first week.
It is said that apart from good connectivity with roads and adequate parking lots, the ITPO and NBCC will be constructing 17 halls and 7 halls in the first and second phase respectively. This would be done at an approximate cost of Rs 2,254 crore.

The exhibition section would consist of seven halls, 15 acres of open exhibition space, four open amphitheatres, canopies, walkways and skywalk. In simple words, there would be good connectivity with Pragati Maidan metro station. Today, we can see that our leaders are taking smart decisions just like they have taken some time back when there was a news that Government may proficiently buy 2.7 lakh electric vehicles to boost investment.

The complex would have a parking facility of 4,800 vehicles with a latest architectural design. There are also provisions that will help to deal with traffic congestions.
