Indian Government to Announce ‘One Rank One Pension’ Soon

The government is likely to announce OROP (One Rank One Pension) scheme soon by Monday. No official word has been provided yet, but the government has provided a draft note that gives an insight into the ways for tackling the issue.

One Rank One Pension

Amit Shah, the BJP president reported that the government would implement OROP soon. The demand for the annual revision of pensions might not go through, as per what the draft note suggests that. The revision of the pay would be considered by the pay commission– this is what the government prefers to stick on.

To decide the frequency of revisions, a committee would be set up.

The formulation of the government has the potential for diffusing the vocal protest centered around Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.

It is said that the current terms are agreeable to a proportion of ex-servicemen on the implementation with the promise to ponder over and resolve the pending matters at some later date.
