These days, Bihar is on its way to attract international tourists, on account of its 900 tourism sites, which have been identified by the Bihar government. The reports indicate that the plan for this may get the approval by the first week of June or probably by the end of this month.
All the state’s district magistrates were earlier asked to prepare a detailed report, entailing the major destinations that can serve as a popular tourist attraction. In line with this, reports were sent from 38 districts, under which 900 places were found to be the ones that can be developed as a tourist spot. All of these destinations are classified under Sikh, Jain, Buddhist, Ramayan and Gandhi Circuit of the state. Also, after efficiently issuing Five Lakh Free Tourist Visas by India to travel industry now travelers are more interesting in exploring different cities. Therefore, Bihar is also planning to welcome global tourists.
According to the State Tourism Minister, they will first analyze and judge those sites on their potential to attract tourists, before finalizing the roadmap. Apart from this, some spots have also been suggested by the MLAs, MPs and local representatives.
Recently, an event was organized by the Indo-American Chamber, wherein the State tourism department showcased the popular tourist destinations of Bihar. Some of them include the Buddhist and different heritage tourist spots. The event also showcased the 350th Prakash Parv in which worldwide Sikh visited Patna.
Reports say that Bihar, in terms of international tourist footfalls, ranks at the eighth position. Rajgir, Patna, Vaishali, Bodh Gaya, Banka, Nalanda and Gaya are major destinations.
