  • Nearly 6 Lakh New Jobs to Be Created In India This Year

According to reports, this year will introduce almost 6 lakh new flexi-staffing jobs with salaries to be increased by as much as 20%. This increase in salary is driven by a boom in manufacturing, retailing and ecommerce, (as per the estimates by placement companies).

According to the president of ‘Indian Staffing Federation’, almost 85,000 people were recruited last year, for flexi-staffing jobs and the first quarter of this year is reported to have recruited about 16,000 workers till date.

The major staffing companies, including Randstad, ManpowerGroup and Adecco, seem to achieve huge growth this year by recruiting eligible candidates. Due to the flourishing industries, such as, IT, ecommerce, FMCG, banking, financial and insurance, the demand for hiring eligible candidates is escalating at a rapid pace.

Further, the salaries are also likely to witness a significant increase of 15 to 20% at all levels. The salaries may typically start from Rs 10,500 per month to over Rs 2 lakh for senior positions.

The Growth Track

In the past 10 years, approximately 5 million temporary jobs were created in a number of sectors, with ecommerce and retail being the prominent one. But this year, the demand for candidates has been up since the very beginning.

One of the largest staffing companies, Adecco recruited over 1.2 lakh associates in the previous year. While this year, the company is expecting a growth of minimum 20%.

Apart from ecommerce, the company (Adecco India) is investing significantly in the pharmaceuticals and BFSI sectors. It placed over 10,000 employees last year in ecommerce sector alone.

Staffing sector is poised to grow from the present 1.7 million employees to 9 million by the year 2025.
