Reliance Jio Infocomm is going to launch its much awaited 4G services around December. According to Mukesh Ambani, Jio will achieve 100% network coverage in the upcoming 3 years. He further adds that it would connect a million of homes through fibre.

The entire lot of Reliance Jio services will be estimated between INR 300 to INR 500.

This project involves an investment of INR 70,000 crore and is aimed at building a futuristic broadband infrastructure, in order to handle the massive demand for voice and data using LTE (long term evolution) – a standard technology used for offering 4G services. Till date, it has expended Rs 34,000 crore on spectrum assets alone.

According to the Reliance Industries CMD, India will have a set of 4G-LTE handsets at below Rs 4000 price, by December. Further, to boost the adoption levels of 4G device, the company would launch smartphone apps in the next few months.

Jio is the largest holder of liberalized spectrum. Thus, it will provide seamless 4G services across a mix of 1800 MHz, 800 MHz and 2300 MHz bands.

Jio is also planning to enter the broadcast distribution business as well as applied for a payment banks license to enter the evolving mobile money space.
