During the 2015-16 time frame, ISRO will launch 9 Nano/micro satellites for the United States. It will be for the first time that the Indian Space Research Organization will launch US satellite.

The commercial arm of ISRO, Antrix Corporation Ltd has signed an agreement to launch nine micro/Nano satellites for US.

Officials said that these satellites would piggyback on Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle.

So far, the ISRO’s satellite launch vehicles have launched 45 satellites successfully. These satellites belonged to the international customers from 19 countries. Furthermore, everything has become really advanced and now proper satellites used to explore the Indian roads.

Dr K Sivan, who is the director of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, said that the first RLV-TD, i.e. Reusable Launch Vehicle-Technology Demonstration would be most probably held by the end of this year.

RLV-TD is basically known as a series of technology demonstration missions. It is considered as the first step towards realizing a TSTO (Two Stage to Orbit) re-usable vehicle.

Sivan adds that the cost of the 2.5 tonne Geo-synchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle D6 would be approximately INR 250 crore and would be soon launched by the end of this month.

The launch of GSAT 6 would bring a huge momentum in the communication sector in the country.
